Building, Financing and Access Compliance at the CA Charter School Conference Feb 29th
The California Charter Schools Conference, to be held February 27-March 1 in Sacramento, will gather almost 3,000 charter leaders, educators, advocates, parents and supporters. Lend Lease and Sally Swanson Architects will discuss financial models of creating charter schools — public/private partnerships, design-build, lease/lease-back, and construction manager at risk (CM at risk) which guarantees a charter school within a targeted budget. They will be covering alternative approaches from entitlement to close out. School modernizations will be covered, with disability access code compliance an important factor. Also discussed will be involving students for future building careers through internships during the process.
