New Challenges, Tools, and Opportunities in Planning for Healthy

An impressive international gathering on walking and bicycling– and creating great community– the Pro Walk/Pro Bike: Pro Place conference will have more than 100 program sessions, mobile workshops, and problem-solving workshops. Arfi Khambatta, SSA’s Director of Access Consulting is on a problem-solving panel that will be presenting new challenges and opportunities for developing healthier ‘active transportation’ systems. The workshop will cover some of the new planning, outreach, and funding tools that can help to achieve this goal. The panelists will be presenting successful case studies and “lessons learned” from communities of all sizes, sharing practical hands-on techniques to help implement healthy transportation policies and programs.
