First Impressions – A 2019 New Year Greeting from Sally Swanson, AIA
At the dawn of a new year, to a business, all good things are possible, and the possibilities seem endless.
To be sure, 2018 was a year of firmwide great expectations, initiatives and success. And, with that success came many firsts as SSA expanded geographically into New York City and the state of Arizona.
And, now we are positioned for a new year of more firsts to herald SSA’s 39th year.
But let’s consider first impressions.
This may be the most important “first” of all.
In business, first impressions mark the difference between the opportunity to cultivate a lasting professional relationship with a new client, and the danger of burning a bridge by not fulfilling a client’s expectations.
We at SSA understand that you only get a chance to make a first impression…once. And so, we prepare by learning as much as possible in advance about our client’s vision, needs, and goals. SSA brings to each client a specific expertise in architecture, planning, ADA access, dedicated long-term staff, and unique resources to assist in their respective business.
While one may only need to make a good first impression once, why not continue making a good first impression with each ensuing client engagement throughout the contract term? It might just be the sincerest sign of respect toward the client and gratitude for their belief in the firm to carry forth the assignment.
SSA considers it a good first habit of the new year; a habit that is worth emulating.
