SSA updated this historic city’s 1992 Title II Self Evaluation and Transition Plan. Tasks included field inspections of City facilities, identification of accessibility issues, and updating the City’s Self Evaluation Plan, in cooperation with City staff. SSA compiled and evaluated a list of barriers in public agencies and found creative alternatives to meeting ADA code while respecting the historic character. SSA also completed a detailed outline of the methods to be used to remove the barriers and a phased schedule to achieve compliance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act. The results were presented to the Mayor’s Committee on Disability.
