California Dept. of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR)

SSA has been working for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on a number of health-related facilities. SSA is currently working on the team for CDCR on one of the largest design/build hospitals in California. The 1.2 million sq ft design-build California Health Care Facility (CHCF)—Stockton will provide medical and mental health care to approximately 3,000 inmate-patients. SSA is reviewing the construction documents and doing site inspections throughout the course of this fast track $1.2 billion design-build project. Approved by CDCR Facilities Design and Construction, SSA is also certifying access compliance, acting for the state in a unique building department-like function. SSA’s five other CDCR projects—two in Vacaville, one each in Soledad, Corona and San Luis Obispo—range in size between 40,000 – 70,000 sq ft.
