Marin Community College District
Path of Travel Analysis, Master Plan Development, Barrier Removal – 2014

SSA assisted the College of Marin in developing a Transition Plan which listed methods of modifying the college’s facilities to achieve compliance with the ADA. An access compliance survey report included cost estimations and a schedule of barrier removal based on a combination of master prioritization of campus buildings and the priority level of each individual barrier. The College’s available funding sources and any ongoing or future construction was another factor helping to determine the schedule.

Now SSA is addressing the list of access barriers identified on the Transition Plan. SSA is focusing on three campus buildings – the Learning Resources Center, Fusselman Hall, and the Student Service Union. The work consists of design services for handrails, ramps, parking, path of travel, signage, toilets, photography room and classroom renovations.
